Special. Containment. Procedures: SCP-9180 is to be maintained in a DALPC containment chamber. In order to suppress SCP-9180's abilities, two volunteers are chosen every month to "play" with SCP-9180. Methods of play include, but are not limited to: fetch, petting, tag, feeding, chew toys, and cuddling. The volunteers are to be chosen out of the list of Foundation staff at Site 44, regardless of clearance, and are to swap off playing with SCP-9180 during their scheduled breaks. Under no circumstances should any negative, derogatory, or hostile actions/emotions be displayed around SCP-9180.
Description: SCP-9180 is a female, juvenile, domestic dog (Canis lupus familiaris) of a Golden Retriever, Labrador mixed breed. Anomalous properties observed to date include the ability to stay the same age, the production of varied animal noises, and the ability to de-age humans into toddlers. De-aged individuals retain the intelligence and personalities that were present before the transformation. De-aged individuals also shrink with the current clothing and accessories they are wearing.
Aggressive or "mean-spirited" behavior within the proximity of SCP-9180 will result in triggering of its de-aging ability. Its ability will prioritize present aggressors; however, it can recognize and target groups, regardless of members' locations. The extent of the targeting is currently unknown, but it is presumed to be infinite.
Group targeting has been observed to be based on pattern recognition. If multiple members from a group are aggressive toward SCP-9180, it will use its ability on the entire group. Whether this is a sign of higher intelligence or something different is currently unknown.

Rapid Response Team
SCP-9180 upon recovery in Mr. Fritz's backyard.
DISCOVERY
SCP-9180 was discovered in the backyard of one Marshall Fritz. Mr. Fritz made a call to the local police, saying he found a puppy on the street, and that it started making dolphin noises.
The Foundation sent a Rapid Response Team to the location who secured the anomaly without any complications. After a short amount of testing, it was concluded that SCP-9180's only anomalous trait was the ability to speak in a large variety of animal noises. The frequency and noise chosen appear to be random, and no pattern has been recognized.
Non-anomalous standout traits were also found. These include small scars and old bruises on its stomach region. These bruises and scars appear to be inflicted by humans, with the scars being traced to a cattle prod. Marshall Fritz has been cleared of all wrongdoing due to the marks being older than Fritz's possession of SCP-9180.
SCP-9180 has been moved to Site-44. Due to housing issues and SCP-9180's safe, benign nature, the site is currently attempting to house it with a responsible employee. All resources needed to take care of SCP-9180 would be provided, and the employee would be the owner while working Foundation hours.

James Washington: Come in.
[Felix Ivoro walks in cautiously.]
Felix Ivoro: You wanted to see me?
James Washington: Yes, sit down.
[Felix sits in the second seat in front of James' desk. Silence lingers for a moment.]
James Washington: Can you guess why I called you in here for the fourth time this month?
Felix Ivoro: I-
James Washington: Another misfiled document!
[James slams the document he was reading on his desk. SCP-9180 wakes up.]
Felix Ivoro: You and I both know filing by name is much better than by number.
James Washington: It doesn't matter what I think because there are systems in place for a reason. If you want to do this anywhere else, be my guest, but you need to follow the rules while at work.
[James says, raising his voice. SCP-9180 begins to whimper and back further into her corner. Felix stands up.]
Felix Ivoro: If I don't vouch for the better method, nothing's gonna change.
[Both parties resort to yelling.]
James Washington: This is not the place to push agendas; all you're gonna do is get me fired!
[SCP-9180 starts whimpering uncontrollably.]
James Washington: What's wrong wi-
[James instantly gets turned into a toddler and disappears behind his desk. Felix shrinks right in the open and is stuck on his back. SCP-9180 runs out of the office.]

CCTV– CONTAINMENT OF SCP-9180
[Camera feed shows Washington's office with Washington attempting to climb onto his desk and Ivoro still on the floor.]
Ivoro:
For the eighth time, help me up.
[Grunt.]
Washington:
No.
[PA system dings]
05-4:
Greetings, Mr. Washington and Ivoro. You may be wondering why I am only addressing you and not the site as a whole; that will be answered in due time. As of today at 17:08, the entire Foundation has been turned into toddlers. Half of the Council are stuck in their beds and can't get out. I was the only lucky one. I happened to be sitting on my desk when this happened, giving me the PA access I have now. Never mind that I took 10 minutes to log into my desktop. The automated systems informed me that Site 44 was the central cause of our current issue. After reviewing the CCTV footage, I found that you two started this, and in my opinion, you two are the only people who can reverse this. What I need from you is simple. Track the anomaly, find a way to calm it down, and succeed, because if you don't, this will mark the end of the Foundation.
[PA system jingles.]
Ivoro:
Good lord.
[Ivoro finally props himself up and drunkenly walks across the room to Washington.]
Ivoro:
What should we do?
[Washington is sitting on the ground next to his desk, massaging his temples.]
Washington:
Well, the good news is my door is open, so we won't have trouble leaving. We need to split up and try to find the anomaly.
[Washington waddles through his office.]
Ivoro:
Wait, we need to-
[Washington walks out of his office and to the left.]
Ivoro:
Stick together.
[Washington makes his way through the towering halls of the site. Hearing complaining and whining coming from behind the closed doors, he passes.]
Washington:
You couldn't have gone far.
[Ivoro comes from around the last corner Washington took.]
Ivoro:
How selfish can you be?
[Washington clenches his fists, spinning around too fast and landing on his backside. He angrily helps himself up.]
Washington:
Can it. I'm not taking any lip from you; you're the reason this happened in the first place.
[Ivoro clenches his jaw and gets closer to Washington, pointing at him.]
Ivoro:
M-me, how can you be so naive? Your damn temper is what scared that poor thing half to death. How they let you even have that dog in your office is beyond me.
Washington:
Pfhht.
[Washington turns around and attempts to walk away. Ivoro grabs his shoulder.]
Ivoro:
No, you don't get to just walk away.
[Washington grabs Ivoro's wrist from his shoulder.]
Washington:
Never touch me again! When this is over, you will be bunking with the janitor, and you can bet on that!
[The clicks of hooves are heard from a distant corridor, interrupting the scuffle. Washington and Ivoro waddle into an open office door, hiding just behind the door frame.]
Ivoro:
What is it?
Washington:
A Not Deer.
Ivoro:
Oh yeah, I heard they had one here for testing. I think his name is Barry.
Washington:
Shhhh, shut up.
[The 6448 instance walks past the door frame slowly and continues wandering down the hall until it's out of sight. Both men let out a sigh.]
Washington:
God, we are lucky that thing is not looking for us.
Ivoro:
Why's it out? The automated systems should have locked down everything, right? Especially a Keter.
Washington:
I don't know.
[Washington and Ivoro stand in silence for a moment.]
Ivoro:
We have to help each other find her.
Washington:
I think my answer was pretty clear on that.
[Washington resumes walking down the hallway, Ivoro tries to keep up silently.]
Washington:
Don't think I don't see you back there.
[Ivoro ignores Washington's remark. A crash is heard, followed by crying from behind an office door adorned with flowers and the nameplate "Dr. LeAnn". Ivoro approaches the door.]
Washington:
Don't you dare. The last thing I want to do is to lug your injured body around.
[Ivoro pushes open the nearly closed door, almost falling into the room. Before them are books lying all over the floor and half as many in a broken, makeshift stair pattern propped up against a desk. Dr. LeAnn is sitting under some of the books, on her back, crying. Ivoro and Washington pull all of the books off of her.]
Ivoro:
What happened?
[The doctor wipes her eyes with her lab coat.]
LeAnn:
I just wanted to get to my desk, so I'm not completely useless.
Washington:
Well, doctor, it's for your own safety, and judging by the book avalanche, you need to listen to the orders.
Ivoro:
Come on, I'll help you.
[Washington rolls his eyes as Ivoro starts pushing books back to the desk. LeAnn joins in, and Washington eventually helps put the final few steps in.]
LeAnn:
Thank you guys, so much.
Ivoro:
Anytime, can we help you with the computer?
Washington:
No, if you want to stay here, be my guest, but I'm going to do my job.
[Washington slowly descends the book stairs and crosses the room to the door.]
Ivoro:
Come on, see how well we do whe-
Washington:
Save me the whole "teamwork" thing. You're just dead weight anyway.
[Washington leaves Ivoro in the doctor's room and continues his search. ]
[Washington walks for a while. He eventually winds a corner to chaos. A collection of mini guards and D-class are wrestling, cussing, and fighting in the hall. Their uniforms shrank, but the weapons remained their original size. He tries to turn around, but a D-class spots him before he can.]
D-5728:
Come here, pencil pusher.
[The D-class swings his chubby, tattooed arm at Washington, landing the first blow. Washington hits the ground, and the D-class straddles him, pressing his fingers around his neck. Just as Washington turns blue, Ivoro hits the D-class in the back of the head with a coffee mug.]
Ivoro:
Come on!
[Washington and Ivoro flee from the hallway brawl and into an empty break room. Washington lies on the ground catching his breath.]
Washington:
Thanks. What, uh, made you follow me?
Ivoro:
There's no way we can do this separately; we're two feet tall with low motor skills. We have to stick together.
[Ivoro extends his hand to Washington. Hesitantly, Washington takes it, and Ivoro helps him up.]
Washington:
I'm sorry for being so rude. This job just really stresses me out.
Ivoro:
Hey man, I get it; I lose my temper too. Dying in the dark is not good for the soul.
Washington:
New start?
[Washington offers Ivoro a handshake.]
Ivoro:
Why not?
[The two men shake hands, smiling.]
Washington:
Ok, let's find that dog.
[Ivoro and Washington walk side by side through the maze of halls.]
Ivoro:
What made you join up?
[Washington cracks a smile and laughs.]
Ivoro:
I know that's the most overused icebreaker here, but I genuinely want to know.
Washington:
Well, let's see. I was much younger than I am now. Looking for gray in my beard was not on my list of worries. Pre-Foundation, I worked at a Foundation front company unknowingly.
Ivoro:
How was the pay?
Washington:
Nothing to complain about. I was doing the same thing there as I did here. Classification. Except instead of classifying gods, I was classifying bears or some newfound type of squirrel. They promoted me, and now we're here. I mean, who would turn down a triple pay increase and the opportunity to babysit you all day?
[Both toddlers laugh.]
Washington:
What about you?
Ivoro:
Well, it's not as extravagant as yours, but I'll tell ya. Got kicked out of the house by my mother. She said I needed to get my life together. I was in debt not just to her but to other people, too. I was always good with desk jobs, but my gambling pushed me out of most jobs. I guess the Foundation picked up on my skill and, like a guardian angel, reached out to me at my lowest point. Three years later, and here we are.
Washington:
"Not as extravagant as mine." Your story makes mine look like being stuck in traffic.
[Ivoro laughs.]
Washington:
Seriously, though, I'm sorry you had to go through that. Addiction is no joke. How are you holding up?
Ivoro:
Very well, actually. The Foundation has a pretty great lineup of people to help with that kind of thing.
Washington:
Good to hear.
[A cow mooing is heard in the distance, followed by a bat call.]
Ivoro:
There she is!
[The two move as quickly as possible into the next hallway, finding SCP-9180 chasing its tail.]
Ivoro:
What now?
Washington:
Well, if being aggressive caused this, we should probably be the opposite of that. Let's slowly approach her.
[They approach the dog slowly, not making any sudden moves. It stops in its path, staring at both of them. Ivoro reaches out, but before he can make contact, something in the distance scares SCP-9180 off.]
Washington:
Damn it, we were right there.
Ivoro:
We gotta keep up with her.
[Washington and Ivoro wander for ten minutes.]
Ivoro:
Here, puppers.
[Washington whistles.]
Ivoro:
Come on out, sweetie.
[They both walk past Washington's office, then backtrack when they realise SCP-9180 is sleeping on its doggy bed.]
Ivoro:
No way.
Washington:
Shhhhh.
[The team gets on their knees and crawls to the bed. Washington then gently places his hand on the dog's head. It jolts up but lays its head back down when he starts to slowly pet it. Ivoro also places a hand on the dog's back. Ivoro and Washington lie down and snuggle with SCP-9180. After five minutes, they all fall asleep in the corner. Ivoro and Washington grow back to normal, the rejuvenated Foundation letting them sleep for another hour.]
Subject: SCP-9180
Regarding: Physical and behavioral changes
Update:
14/06/2026
SCP-9180 was moved into its new containment chamber about two months ago, and general progress has been increasing ever since. The volunteer system has boosted the morale here at Site 44 exponentially. To be more professional, the Therapy Division cites a "40% increase in site morale and positive behavior."
To say the new containment procedures are working would be a drastic understatement.
I wanted to open with a brief general status report, but what I need to talk about is the unforeseen changes regarding SCP-9180.
Over the last two months, SCP-9180 has grown extremely friendly with staff and has even, in some cases, tolerated someone raising their voice. SCP-9180 now runs to whoever the volunteer is for the day, excited for its playtime, which shows that it is growing and hopefully healing its mental scars. To add to this, after reviewing the vitals for these past months, they have shown that SCP-9180 has physically grown ever so slightly.
This is a monumental discovery regarding SCP-9180 because now we know that, somehow, its mental growth is directly tied to its physical growth. The growth lines up directly with SCP-9180's new containment procedures.
I recommend anyone working/visiting Site 44 to volunteer to play with SCP-9180. The more she's loved, the more she grows.
