Special Containment Procedures: Instances of SCP-9207 are to be housed in a blastproof bio-containment chamber within Site-95, modified to emulate their natural environment. Interviews are to be conducted biweekly to assess psychological health.

Instances of SCP-9207 are allowed weekly detonation exercises, which is to be conducted on Site-95's grounds. Specific requests for objects to explode from the instances are to be approved on a case-by-case basis.

SCP-9207-C at rest

Description: SCP-9207 refers to a genetically and thaumaturgically modified subspecies of the common pill-bug (Armadillidium vulgare promethei). SCP-9207 are fully sapient and communicate telepathically.

SCP-9207 instances are capable of self-detonating, with the resulting explosion having a force of approximately 150kg of TNT. Despite total disintegration, the instance will re-materialize 5-10 seconds after the detonation and suffer no lasting damage. SCP-9207 instances are capable of detonating on their own, but have shown a strong social preference for doing it in groups of three, citing the experience as "more satisfying."

SCP-9207 was created by GoI-014 ("Prometheus Labs, Inc.") shortly before their dissolution in 1998. Documents indicate that a total of 3 instances were produced. SCP-9207 was lost during the liquidation of Prometheus Labs assets, but were re-discovered in 2020.

Addendum.9207.1: Discovery

A series of explosions were reported in the Shijō district of Kyoto, Japan. Surveillance footage recorded small spherical objects rolling toward abandoned buildings second before each detonation. After investigations, field agents recovered three SCP-9207 instances and transferred them to Site-95 for containment.

A week after initial containment, the three SCP-9207 instances were noted to be more lethargic and curt in their responses. As well, attempts to detonate their containment chamber ceased. A second interview was conducted to evaluate their wellbeing.

Addendum.9207.3: Demolition Notes

Entry 01

Date: 01/12/2021

The instances responded pretty well to the first batch of objects. They seemed to prefer things that fragment or disperse. Tires, concrete powder, paper, stuff like that. They also liked things that "looked good" exploding. The concrete powder going everywhere was a big hit. Maintenance didn't really like that one, though.

One minor issue: during testing with a crate of anomalous refuse, the instances hesitated before detonating it. After they rematerialized, they seemed groggy for a bit.

However, they seem pretty eager to continue, so that's good! Only note I got from them was if we had "anything bigger?"

Entry 02

Date: 04/14/2021

As testing continues, I've gotten a better idea of 9207's preferences. They like targets that cause a lot of debris and they've actually rejected a couple of objects for not "being cool enough" . They're also pretty excited everytime I introduce something new.

We had another issue with refuse from one of our other anomalies. The first time, they hesitated again before exploding it, but they didn't seem as woozy as last time. The second one, I actually had to ask them a couple of times to detonate it. -C withdrew entirely before the other two convinced it to come back. I'm not sure what to make of it yet, but I'm avoiding anomalous waste for now.

Date: 03/23/2022

This one's a doozy. We ran into a funding issue (shocker), so we can't really afford to get new stuff for the bugs. We also completely stopped using the waste from our other anomalies anymore, cause it always caused issues with them. There was a set of objects from early on that they seemed to like, and were pretty cheap to get. Dirt piles, paper, and concrete blocks.

It was fine for a bit, but I think they got bored of it. They started complaining a while back, and now they're just refusing to even leave their containment chamber. We've tried everything to get them to continue, but they just don't want to. I'd try and find more stuff for them to explode, but we just don't have space for it in the budget. Director Tina's advised me to just call it quits, and I hate to say that she's right.
