Special Containment Procedures: SCP-9536 is to be kept in a locked container within a standard secure locker at Site-██. Personnel handling SCP-9536 must wear nitrile gloves at minimum; direct skin contact is prohibited for all Non-D-Class personnel.
Access for experimental purposes requires Level 3 authorization.
Individuals who come in physical skin-to-object contact with SCP-9536 for more than one day outside of authorized testing are to be housed in humanoid containment cells, placed under 24-hour suicide watch and stripped of all potential self-harm implements. They are to be released after ninety days. Time may vary drastically with the current state of the affected and exposure time.
Description: SCP-9536 takes the appearance of a bunny themed stuffed animal. However, upon contact with human skin the affected individual's perception of reality is anomalously modified. Should a human make contact, the progression of symptoms is as follows:
Early exposure (estimated 3-14 days): Progressing slowly, the subjects manifest textbook symptoms of depersonalization and derealization. Notably the anomaly is excluded from these effects.
Prolonged exposure (estimated 1-4 weeks): Dissociative symptoms continue to increase in intensity. Subjects manifest acute social anxiety. Subjects exposed for this long refuse to create distance with the anomaly, expressing it acts like the only real thing in their mind and thus a kind of anchor.
Extended Exposure (estimated 4+ weeks): Subjects have acute social anxiety and extreme caution about the environment and others. Furthermore affected individuals express an illogical fear that everything is planning their untimely demise. Subjects feel separated from reality as a whole and see the anomaly as an island of peace, structure and as the only thing that is still trustworthy. A full recovery has not been observed past this stage; following recovery from the anomalous effects, subjects report persistent feelings of emptiness and occasional dissociative episodes.
Addendum 9536.1: Discovery Logs
SCP-9536 was recovered following an intervention by the Foundation in a missing persons case involving a minor. Subject was recovered in a forested area near their home/residence, holding tightly to SCP-9536. When they saw the police personnel they attempted to escape on foot. As soon as the officers took hold of them, they started screaming and trying to bite themselves and the officers. Later the minor was put in a mental hospital due to their condition. Subject became agitated when hospital staff refused to return SCP-9536, repeatedly stating "I need it back" and "everything feels wrong without it." On day 18 of hospitalization, subject asked, "Can I at least see it one more time before I die?" No prior suicidal statements had been documented. After partial recovery the child was asked to give details of what happened and how they felt by an undercover field agent. Hearing the effects of the anomaly, the agent called for Foundation support and investigation. The child made a full recovery as exposure was not excessive.
Addendum 9536.2: Early Separation Trial (Trial 01)
D-Class-32508 was exposed to SCP-9536 for 14 days before forced separation. Subject showed mild dissociative symptoms for 20 days post exposure. D-32508 was released from the humanoid containment cell at day 24 post exposure showing no permanent effects.
Addendum 9536.3: Indirect Trial (Trial 02)
D-Class-45213 was exposed to SCP-9536 exclusively using latex gloves and later fabric gloves for 28 days. No anomalous effects were observed. Anomaly is believed to require direct skin-to-object contact for effects to manifest.
Addendum 9536.4: Amnestic Trial (Trial 03)
D-Class-43237 was exposed for 14 days to SCP-9536. Following exposure Class-A amnestics were administered. While subject did forget the SCP-9536 testing trial, there were no improvements in the anomalous symptoms. Amnestics are therefore deemed ineffective against SCP-9536's effects.

D-Class: Sorry.
Dr. Mason: May I ask you to raise your left hand for me?
After a two second pause of a blank expression the subject raises his hand swiftly
D-Class: I almost forgot… I almost forgot where is left
Dr. Mason does not comment
D-Class: Are we close to being done?
Dr. Mason: Only two minutes have passed.
D-Class: Two? That felt like thirty…
Dr. Mason: Tell me, do you often feel like you are cut off from the world?
D-Class: … I would say yeah. Frequently. It feels like it's getting worse Doc. Like every day I am a millimeter further away from my body than yesterday. Can I go back now?
Dr. Mason: Final question, I promise. The meal we gave you yesterday. Did the flavor give you a feeling of pleasure?
Two second pause
D-Class: … I… really do not remember. May I go now..? Finally?
Dr. Mason: Sure.
Interviewer: Dr. Mason

D-Class refused to leave the anomaly. As per protocol, speakers and microphones inside the room will be used
Dr. Mason: Are you having problems letting go of the anomaly?

Dr. Mason: Can you hear me?

D-Class: Yeah.
Dr. Mason: Are you having problems letting go?
D-Class: … I guess… Can you leave me alone..? In silence..?
Dr. Mason: I will if you answer a few questions. Just be truthful. No reason to panic.

Dr. Mason: How do you feel now that I am interviewing you while you hold the stuffed animal in contrast to when you could have it with you?
D-Class: … I think… I think I feel safer. How many questions are there?
Dr. Mason: Just a few-
D-Class: Number.
Dr. Mason: Four questions in total.
Five second pause
Dr. Mason: Tell me, do you ever think back to a memory of yours and feel like you are not part of it?
D-Class: …Memories I have sometimes feel borrowed.
Dr. Mason: And why do you refuse to let go of the anomaly?
D-Class: …Please stop calling it an anomaly. It… offends it… To answer your question doc… if you were being held above hell… would you let go?
Dr. Mason: Expand on "hell". What exactly do you mean?
Five second pause
Dr. Mason: Can you-
D-Class: I feel like the walls are fake. I feel like the floor is cardboard. I feel like what I see is just a movie projected on a bad surface. I feel like I am piloting someone else. Yet my plushie is just as real as ever. I chase reality doc.
Dr. Mason: As promised this will be the last thing I will ask of you. Then I will leave. Can you raise your hands?
The D-Class was observed over CCTV looking at his left hand for 3 seconds before raising both at a slow pace. The hands were slightly shaking
Dr. Mason: Thank you for your time.
Interviewer: Dr. Mason

Dr. Mason: How are you fee-
D-Class: Let me control the lights… Please.
Dr. Mason: Why do you want that?
D-Class: JUST LET ME. PLEASE… They wont let me rest.

The subject is seen sitting at the corner of the room. There is no noticeable expression.
Dr. Mason: How do you feel the world around you
D-Class: …Can you stop talking? PLEASE. I want peace. I won't speak to you. I know you are recording. I know what you want to do.
Dr. Mason: What do you think we want to do?
A pause of 4 second responds
Dr. Mason: What are you scared of?
D-Class: This isn't real. None of this is real. I just need to wake up.
The subject is observed to be slightly yet visually trembling.
Dr. Mason: Raise your hands and I will.
No reaction
Dr. Mason: If you raise your hands I will let you control the lights.
D-Class: No you won't. Leave me. LEAVE ME!

The D-Class has turned off the lights. Active night vision cameras show them laying upon the table. They are holding tightly to the anomaly.
Dr. Mason: I'm sorry?
D-Class: You want me dead. All of you. I know it. So why are you delaying it?
Dr. Mason: We do not want you dead. We have never shown we want you dead.

Dr. Mason: How are you feeling?
No response
Dr. Mason: Just a few questions. Three questions. Answer them.
D-Class: …Let me be.
Dr. Mason: Unfortunately I have tasks I need to complete.
D-Class: Stop. Why do you keep talking.
Dr. Mason: I'm afraid-
D-Class: The floor wants to swallow me.
Dr. Mason: As you are not answering I must skip to the part where the test ends. Trust us, even if you really do not want to.
Addendum 9536.6: Multiple Subject Trial (Trial 05)
D-Class-64236 and D-Class-23581 were placed in the testing chamber together. Both subjects were instructed to hold on to the anomaly. When D-64236 started showing symptoms of prolonged exposure, aggression built between the two subjects. D-64236 successfully maintained primary possession. D-23581 developed symptoms at slightly lower than normal rate as they were only exposed to the anomaly when D-64236 was asleep. Simultaneous multi-subject testing has been suspended pending further review.
