Description: SCP-9543 is an ongoing phenomenon in which loaves of bread manifest in random locations around Earth without a discernible pattern. SCP-9543 instances vary in size and color—most instances have been observed to be either orange, brown, black, or white—though all maintain a compact, rounded structure. Upon closer inspection, surfaces are often uneven and may exhibit fine, filament-like protrusions inconsistent with typical bread products.
SCP-9543 instances do not emit any detectable odor similar to that of ordinary bread and display no signs of heat or recent baking. All instances will disappear when not under direct observation, including both human sight and continuous camera recording.
In several cases, SCP-9543 instances have appeared to move slightly or make small noises between observations or upon contact, though no major details have been recorded.

Incident.9543: On 8/23/2026, O5-9 purchased a loaf of bread from a bakery near her residence, and placed it inside a pantry located in the Site-01 kitchen. One day later, when O5-9 opened the pantry to eat the bread as his breakfast, one small adolescent cat was discovered trapped inside the bread loaf's vinyl packaging.
It has been determined that the loaf was a SCP-9543 instance, though the reason for its alteration to a cat is yet unknown. This cat has been designated SCP-9543-9, and is currently being cared for by the Overseer Council in Feline Containment Chamber #27. It shows apparent affection toward personnel, frequently settling near individuals and remaining in close proximity for extended periods.
At the time of writing, SCP-9543-9 has not yet returned to its "loaf state".
