Item #: Scp 9136
Object Class: Euclid
Special Containment Procedures: All roads leading to SCP-9136 have been closed to civilian traffic under the pretext of "road construction work." Civilians attempting to enter this area are ordered to be apprehended by the nearest Mobile Task Force (MTF) units and field agents. Apprehended individuals must be transported to Site-██ for interrogation and processing. Following interrogation, individuals should be administered Class B amnestic (memory eraser) and then released.
Description: SCP-9136 is a town located in the US state of ████████, exhibiting architecture and social structures from the 1950s. The town covers an area of approximately 200 km². All buildings, vehicles, and the local population reflect the fashion and technology of the 1950s. The town exists within a time loop; while years pass in the outside world, the atmosphere of the 1950s is preserved within the town. Historical events that occurred between 1950 and 1960 are presented as current news in the town's newspapers and television broadcasts. While it has been determined that the newspapers are printed at a local printing press, the source of the television broadcasts has not yet been identified. According to foundation data, the current population of the town is approximately 10,000 people. The town has been found to contain schools, hospitals, a police station, a town hall, a cinema, various restaurants, and a local newspaper office. When an anomalous civilian enters the town limits, their memory is erased for an unknown reason, and they believe themselves to be a local resident living in the 1950s. After a certain period, these individuals develop their own unique daily routine. The Foundation has classified these subjects as SCP-9136-M (Male) and SCP-9136-F (Female). Their biological functions are no different from those of normal humans; they maintain activities such as eating, sleeping, and reproducing, and they can age and die. The fundamental difference is their mental state. The subjects still believe they are in the Cold War era and that the US President is Harry S. Truman. Despite all rehabilitation efforts, the subjects' memories could not be restored, and they continued to claim they were living in the 1950s. Foundation researchers and agents are required to wear special insulated quarantine suits to protect themselves from the anomalous effects when entering the town. Otherwise, they experience rapid memory loss. (See: The case of Dr. ██ transforming into a scavenger coded SCP-9136-M54 after entering unprotected). Researchers tell the public that they wear these suits due to a "special situation/epidemic." After some locals noticed the drone during an aerial view, the local newspaper ran the headline "Unidentified Object Sighted in the Sky" the following day.

Interviewees: Dr. Owen and SCP-1873-M50
Dr. Owen: Hello, you haven't waited long, have you?
SCP-9136-M50: No, not really. But why am I here, doctor?
Dr. Owen: I just need to ask a few questions.
SCP-9136-M50: Look, I'm not one of those "Reds" (Communists), okay?
Dr. Owen: That's not the point, trust me. This is routine procedure.
SCP-9136-M50: Okay. Dr. Owen: What's your name?
SCP-1873-M50: ██████
Dr. Owen: Where are you from? Can you tell me your full address?
SCP-9136-M50: Of course, I live in the state of ████████, town of █████.
Dr. Owen: How are your days? Tell me a little bit.
SCP-9136-M50: I go to high school. I watch baseball games with my dad and spend time with ████.
Dr. Owen: Who is ████?
SCP-9136-M50: My girlfriend is a doctor, I love her very much.
Dr. Owen: Can you tell me a little bit about town?
SCP-9136-M50: It's quite a beautiful place. You should definitely come someday, it's wonderful in the summers. We have a very nice movie theater; in fact, 'Superman vs. Atom Man' is showing. I promised my brother I'd take him.
Dr. Owen: Good. Now I'll show you a photograph. (Dr. Owen hands over a photograph of the subject in modern clothing from 2010, taken before entering town).
SCP-9136-M50: Alright, doctor…
Dr. Owen: Is that you in the photograph?
SCP-9136-M50: (Pauses) Yes… but it's very strange.
Dr. Owen: What's strange? Please explain.
SCP-9136-M50: The clothes… I've never seen clothes like that before. I think they're from Europe, they look very foreign. And the buildings in the background… They're very strange too. I can't figure out what's going on, or hey, wait, isn't this a photomontage?
Dr. Owen: Yes. Anyway, you'll come back to the close-up, okay? [RECORDING ENDED]
