Special Containment Procedures: SCP-9918-A is to be housed in the lowermost containment chamber of High-Priority Reality Containment and Research Site-68. The chamber is to be outfitted with no fewer than eight reality anchors and tensile ontological restraints (“reality ropes”) utilized to maintain SCP-9918-A within a stable spatial volume of 3 m × 3 m × 3 m.

Original tests of the centralized pillar emitting tensile ontological restraints to be used for containment of SCP-9918.

Due to SCP-9918-B exhibiting persistent hostile intent toward humanity and the Foundation, weekly human offerings are required to maintain a binding agreement in which SCP-9918-B assists in suppressing expansion of SCP-9918-Æ in exchange for continued sustenance.

A Flynn Reality Seal field with an operational volume of 30 m × 30 m × 30 m is to be maintained around SCP-9918’s containment chamber to inhibit full manifestation of SCP-9918-B. Partial manifestations may still occur and are to be documented as REM parasomnia events. While affected by an active Flynn Reality Seal, SCP-9918-B remains incapable of achieving physical coherence and is therefore unable to directly harm personnel.

MTF Gamma-747 (“Reality Seekers”) is to remain on standby as a rapid-response failsafe in the event of Reality Seal degradation or SCP-9918-B achieving partial materialization requiring forced recontainment.

In the event that primary containment procedures fail, there is a network of Foundation outposts positioned along the coastlines of the Sea of Japan at 30 km intervals. Each outpost is equipped with emergency Zakharyan Reality Seals, designed to prevent SCP-9918-Æ from achieving terrestrial landfall.

In the event SCP-9918-Æ expands beyond controllable measures, the Global Reality Anchor Network (G.R.A.N.) is to be activated. When activated, the network functions by forcibly fragmenting SCP-9918-Æ’s dimensional structure. Due to a high probability of SCP-9918-Æ reality destabilization, G.R.A.N. deployment is authorized only under O5 command clearance. Furthermore, the previous deployment of [INCIDENT REDACTED BY ORDER OF THE O5 COUNCIL].

In no situations is it permitted to attempt to contain another reality bending anomaly within SCP-9918-Æ due to [INCIDENT REDACTED BY ORDER OF THE O5 COUNCIL].

Description: SCP-9918 is the collective designation for three deeply interconnected anomalies.

SCP-9918-A physically resembles I WOULD HAVE FORGIVEN YOU a wooden stake, with a stark white colouration when viewed from a distance. Weighing approximately 10 grams, SCP-9918-A's size, material, and colour changes depending on the angle the viewer observes it at and whatever emotion they are feeling. While the observer stands within a 10 metre radius of SCP-9918-A, they can only experience whatever emotion they were feeling prior to entering that set radius. If the observer sustains eye contact with SCP-9918-A for a prolonged period, ranging from 5-15 seconds, they will manifest inside SCP-9918-Æ. WHY MUST YOU PERSIST?

SCP-9918-Æ, pictured from outside.

SCP-9918-Æ is an anomalous spatial phenomenon generated by SCP-9918-A. SCP-9918-A manifests as an enclosed chamber with internally variable dimensions, exhibiting continuous attempts at spatial expansion. I CAN HELP YOU

SCP-9918-Æ is believed to constitute a self-contained extradimensional environment inhabited exclusively by SCP-9918-B. SCP-9918-B appears to exert partial regulatory control over the expansion rate and internal structure of SCP-9918-Æ. SCP-9918-Æ's expansion rate has been further destabilized following the failed █████████ Program.

When observed externally, SCP-9918-Æ manifests as a visual and cognitive projection consistent with the observer’s dream imagery. Subjects have reported perceiving environments ranging from grass-covered chambers of disproportionate scale to abandoned urban landscapes, despite visually appearing at a consistent volume of 3 m × 3 m × 3 m (when in this contained state, dimensions may vary depending on the viewer).

SCP-9918-Æ poses no known hazard while viewed exclusively from outside its boundary.

SCP-9918-Æ's expansion does not seem to alter its internal dimensions.

Internally, SCP-9918-Æ appears to resemble the recent dreams of the observer who manifested into it. Although there are certain recurring areas of SCP-9918-Æ between different subjects, it remains unclear if this is due to psychological similarities in the subjects or simply a property of SCP-9918-Æ.

SCP-9918-Æ is highly unstable, due to [INCIDENT REDACTED BY ORDER OF THE O5 COUNCIL], causing subjects who remain within it too long to start to psychologically fuse with the realm. The ramifications to prolonged exposure to SCP-9918-Æ remain unclear.

The prevailing theory proposes that SCP-9918-Æ constitutes a discrete reality that has partially superimposed onto baseline reality as a consequence of sustained experimentation involving SCP-9918-A. This hypothesis is supported by data obtained during the ██████████ Program, the most extensive of the recorded experimental initiatives.

Accordingly, it is theorized that entities introduced into SCP-9918-Æ are transported to a remote spatial point corresponding to the native location of SCP-9918-Æ.

The area affected by SCP-9918-Æ while it is expanded is completely overwritten. Often replacing non-solid structures such as water with eclectic structures formed from an extradimensional variant of matter/energy labelled by the Somniumistics department as 'Dreamscape Matter'.

While inside SCP-9918-Æ, those who attempt to explore it may have their minds overridden with the mind of the SCP-9918-B.

Although rare, entities are known to manifest within SCP-9918-Æ. These entities typically resemble people, animals or fictional characters which the observer who manifested SCP-9918-Æ has some form of close connection to. YOUR HELP IS UNWANTED

Some images regarding SCP-9918-Æ have been documented below. (Cameras within SCP-9918-Æ have a tendency to occasionally change resolution, grain clarity and focus)

Within SCP-9918-Æ exists an entity designated SCP-9918-B. SCP-9918-B is an enigmatic anomaly exhibiting properties including spontaneous metamorphosis, paralysis inducement, telekinesis, reality alteration, near-invulnerability, superposition, and cognitive manipulation.

SCP-9918-B is most commonly observed manipulating the visual perception of I WANT THEM human subjects it encounters. SCP-9918-B has attempted to alter this documentation on multiple occasions, stating its motive as, quote, “Scare away the bad people.”

SCP-9918-B was described by a member of the Somniunistics Division in its presumed baseline form as follows: 'A black lanky humanoid with fingers as long as its forearms, no visual facial features except deep white pits for eyes'. No additional evidence confirming this description has been recovered; therefore, SCP-9918-B’s true form remains unverified.

During multiple escape attempts and [INCIDENT REDACTED BY ORDER OF THE O5 COUNCIL], all personnel questioned regarding SCP-9918-B’s appearance either reported no direct visual contact or denied that the entity existed at all. MTF personnel involved in SCP-9918-B’s recontainment have since entered persistent comatose states with no identifiable medical cause.

When SCP-9918-Æ expands beyond one kilometre in diametre, SCP-9918-B becomes increasingly likely to manifest. SCP-9918-B has been observed in this expanded state at multiple locations simultaneously, with each manifestation differing between observers.

While in this state, SCP-9918-B appears as imagery derived from a subject’s nightmares. Subjects incapable of dreaming or experiencing nightmares are instead neutralized through SCP-9918-B’s mere proximity.

SCP-9918-B as described by D-56473.

Why can't I have them
SCP-9918-B displays a persistent hostility toward the Foundation following [INCIDENT REDACTED BY ORDER OF THE O5 COUNCIL]. All known forms of parasomnia have been tentatively attributed to SCP-9918-B partially manifesting within a nonphysical extradimensional layer, with full manifestation prevented by current containment measures.

While within SCP-9918-Æ, D-Class subjects report SCP-9918-B exhibiting withdrawn or timid behavior, observing from a distance before initiating hostile action. Despite possessing the ability to directly manipulate neurochemistry, SCP-9918-B appears to preferentially induce fear responses prior to (or attempted) neutralization of the subject.

Confirmed casualties involving SCP-9918-B remain rare; however, seventeen (17) D-Class personnel are confirmed or suspected to have been terminated by the entity. Typically SCP-9918-B observes a subject from between 48-300 minutes before initiating in hostility. Assuming the subject leaves SCP-9918-Æ, SCP-9918-B will dematerialize.

SCP-9918-B’s behavior and morphology vary significantly between manifestations. All observed forms demonstrate continuous shapeshifting without discernible transitional stages, described by witnesses as though the entity was “always in a state of change.”

SCP-9918-B maintains total control over SCP-9918-Æ’s internal environment. This authority forms the basis of the Foundation’s containment agreement with the entity: in exchange for a regulated supply of human test subjects, SCP-9918-B actively limits the anomalous expansion of SCP-9918-Æ. Following the incident involving the L.U.C.I.D. Program, SCP-9918-Æ has exhibited sustained instability. Prior to the program’s implementation, expansion of SCP-9918-Æ occurred exclusively upon direct observation by external personnel. Additionally, SCP-9918-B entities within SCP-9918-Æ did not demonstrate aggressive behavior. In contrast to the current state, manifestations were significantly less frequent and exhibited no recorded hostility.

Update, 29th of September 1908: SCP-9918-B anomalously altered the ink on this typewritten document to include the following phrases: “Hi friend! Who are you?”, “:)”, “I have seen your friends. Can I meet them?”, and “Who is SCP-9918?”. All alterations were reverted.

Update, 30th of January 1910: SCP-9918-B again modified the ink on this typewritten document, inserting the statements: “Why are you ignoring me?”, “I mean no harm.”, “My friends wish to meet you.”, and “Why were your friends afraid of me? I was only trying to say hello.” These alterations were reverted.

Update, 12th of June 1911: SCP-9918-B modified the ink on this typewritten document to include: “Oh well.”, “I can stay away.”, and “:(”. These alterations were reverted.

Update 13th of February 1915: By order of Site administration, this document is not to be restored following further anomalous modification. Any subsequent alterations attributed to SCP-9918-B are to remain visible and struck through, without correction.

Discovery:

SCP-9918 was discovered on 1 January 1899 along a coastal region near Kimch’aek, Korean Empire. SCP-9918-A was identified following multiple civilian reports describing heightened states of euphoria, aggression, and other extreme emotional responses in proximity to a monolithic structure, the dimensions and morphology of which varied between accounts. Upon receipt of these reports, a Foundation operative from Site-68 was dispatched to investigate, locate, and designate the anomaly. This deployment resulted in the first documented observations of SCP-9918-A. The operative further reported progressive expansion of SCP-9918-Æ in the immediate vicinity of SCP-9918-A during direct observation.

In response, the Foundation deployed MTF Unit Gamma-747 (“Reality Seekers”) to secure and contain SCP-9918. Containment was achieved without recorded anomalous escalation. SCP-9918-A was subsequently housed in the above-ground secondary containment wing at Site-68, where it remained until [INCIDENT REDACTED BY ORDER OF THE O5 COUNCIL]. Following successful containment, SCP-9918-Æ was subjected to the following experimental protocols:

Foreword: This log was recorded using experimental radio transmission apparatus. Prior research has indicated that SCP-9918-Æ exhibits an amplifying effect on radio-frequency emissions, permitting limited communication within SCP-9918-Æ.

[BEGIN LOG]

Dr. Reginald Retina: Subjects, please enter SCP-9918-Æ.

D-121212: O-okay.

Subjects enter a mildly expanding SCP-9918-Æ.

D-121212: Damn, it's… beautiful here.

D-00012: What are you seeing? I just see a city. Looks like its made of plastic.

Dr. Reginald Retina: Interesting.

D-198118: I… don't see anything.

Dr. Reginald Retina: What?

Subjects all let out a small yell.

D-121212: Fuck, my eyes. (mildly moaning)

Dr. Reginald Retina: What happened?

D-121212: There was a light and now I'm somewhere else (panting). Oh Jesus, please. Not exactly sure what this is. But this is how I guess I could say it looks futuristic. Lots of purple carpets and a weird bright blue lights.

Dr. Reginald Retina: And what is everyone else seeing?

D-198118: I-I see the same thing now. There's a balloon in the middle of the room. Looks like a medieval jester. I don't really know.

D-00012: (Panting). I-I-I see the same. I think.

Dr. Reginald Retina: Ah! Phenomenal. Walk around. Explore the place and report back.

D-121212: Alright. (Deep Breath) Okay.

The line goes silent for approximately five minutes.

D-00012: Doctor?

Dr. Reginald Retina: Yes?

D-00012: I just found a room separate from the rest. It's like a theatre but instead of a stage it has this large, vast sheet of God knows what. It's very dark. I really don't like it here. Alone. It's calm but I doesn't feel right.

Dr. Reginald Retina: Interesting. Explore it a little.

D-00012: Alright. What the fuck? There's another one of me. It isn't really doing anything. It's just there just kind of standing there, smiling at me, tilting its head like a flippin' puppy. AGH! Jesus. Stay back! I'm not trying to die here.

Dr. Reginald Retina: What happened?

D-00012: It moved really fucking fast. It's fine I think. It doesn't seem to be-

Dr. Reginald Retina: Doesn't seem to be what?

D-00012: Huh, it's gone. Never even saw it leave. Must live here I guess.

D-198118: Woah stay back.

Dr. Reginald Retina: Is it with you now, D-198118?

D-198118: If you're referring to the goddamn balloon from earlier? Yes. It is here. I went back to the center room again and it was gone. Went and found the toilets and its here. What the fuck. Oh, also the toilets are upside-down.

Dr. Reginald Retina: Could be a shapeshifter. Approach it, D-198118.

D-198118: What? Absolutely not. I don't know what that is.

Dr. Reginald Retina: Non-compliance will result in immediate termination, D-198118.

D-198118: Fuck, fuck, FUCK okay.

D-198118 goes silent for approximately two minutes before resuming conversation.

D-198118: It disappeared. Like it genuinely just evaporated or something.

Dr. Reginald Retina: D-121212, is it with you?

D-121212: There's something here? Is it dangerous?

Dr. Reginald Retina: Doesn't appear so. Have you found anything?

D-121212: Yeah I found a door. The door leads to the middle of the desert. (With a confused tone) A desert filled with poles.

Dr. Reginald Retina: Come back to SCP-9918-A all of you. We are bringing you back. You've done enough for now.

Additional notes

D-22021 was instructed to walk in a circle around SCP-9918-A at various distances while maintaining eye contact with the anomaly.

D-22021 successfully completed two quick laps around SCP-9918-A. Upon entering a fifteen-metre radius of the anomaly, and before it could attempt to do a third lap, the subject manifested in SCP-9918-Æ, which had already expanded more than expected.

For future experiments, subjects approaching SCP-9918-A are to be blindfolded.

An apple was thrown into an actively expanding SCP-9918-Æ.

The apple passed through SCP-9918-Æ without issue, landing on the other side lacking all colour.

Conducted concurrently with the prior experiment.

D-200000 was instructed to enter a ten metre radius of SCP-9918-A and stare at it while keeping its blindfold on.

After twenty minutes of standing, D-200000 was instructed to leave the radius. Nothing occurred.

N/A

D-109555 was instructed to enter SCP-9918-Æ with a rope attached to its waist.

SCP-9918-Æ successfully manifested although the rope attached to D-109555 was cut in half upon manifestation. After 15 minutes, D-109555 remanifested within the testing chamber, visibly shaken up. Upon swift interrogation, D-109555 described their environment as "cavernous", refusing to elaborate even after being threatened with torture.

N/A

A blindfolded Foundation scientist struck SCP-9918-A with a hammer.

No noticeable change was noticed at first. The scientist prematurely removed his blindfold while still in range of SCP-9918-A. Upon doing so, an unstable version of SCP-9918-Æ instantly manifested and consumed the subject.

Every room in the nearby vicinity of the testing chamber was evacuated. The unstable SCP-9918-Æ crumbled into a fine dust after eight minutes. Two more minutes after, the subject's hand appeared in the testing chamber before SCP-9918-A returned to its normal state.

After a small break in testing, D-911123, a known schizophrenic, was asked to enter SCP-9918-Æ to see how mental conditions affect the appearance of SCP-9918-Æ. Equipped with a radio for the purposes of reporting what he sees to the observing Department of Somniumistics personnel.

Upon entering, D-911123 began to describe an open field at night. After what appears to have been 5 minutes of walking through the field, D-911123 described an inability to utilise its abilities. Following this, the subject described as the environment around it shifted to a different location every five steps. As the experiment hit the 30 minute mark, D-911123 reported seeing a fellow D-class on the end of a corridor. After a moment of hesitation, D-911123 dropped its radio and ran across the corridor. After another hour of static, the radio cut out.

Following the disappearance of D-911123, and discovery of its reality bending abilities which were seemingly cancelled out while within SCP-9918-Æ, site director, Dr. F Otter, permitted the use of SCP-9918-Æ as a containment method for Keter class, reality bending entities. This initiative was the cause for the L.U.C.I.D Program aiming to accomplish this initiative.

SCP-9918-Æ exploration log Ω

Date: 29th July, 1924

Subject: SCP-9918-Æ

Team Lead: D-89777

Team Members: D-89777, D-99887, D-01001

[BEGIN LOG]

Dr. Reginald Retina: Please secure your blindfolds and enter SCP-9918-A.

MTF Personnel escort the D-Class to the SCP-9918-A experiment chamber. The gate opens and the MTF leave the room. The D-Class are guided through video feed towards SCP-9918-A, where they are told to stand and look away from SCP-9918-A.

Dr. Reginald Retina: You may remove your blindfolds now. I'm disengaging the tesla coils.

The tesla coils spark out and SCP-9918-Æ begins to expand before video feed is promptly cut.

Dr. Reginald Retina: (To his assistant) Prepare some new tesla coils, it would appear that the older ones have ceased functionality.

Dr. Reginald Retina: (Back on the radio to the D-Class) D-89777, are you all together?

D-89777: Yeah, we're here. All okay, no one is hurt. Looks as you said it would. Can't say I'm used to this though.

Dr. Reginald Retina: Can you describe your surroundings? All of you.

D-89777: I just see open grassland. Like the Windows XP backdrop, except (pauses) there's signs everywhere. Like traffic signs. There's a stop sign, a traffic light. It's weird. I've been here before but also this is so far from anything I could imagine.

Dr. Reginald Retina: Windows XP? Would you mind telling me what that is?

D-89777: I… don't know. I (pauses) fuck, never mind.

Dr. Reginald Retina: I'll ask more questions later. What about the rest of you? We're passing a kilometre in diameter on SCP-9918-Æ.

D-99887: I'm seeing the field as well.

Dr. Reginald Retina: Elabora-

D-01001: What the fuck. No no no this isn't happening. None of this is real. Is that you?

Dr. Reginald Retina: Excuse me? Cooperate D-01001.

D-01001: I'm in a desert. There's cliffs. I see… yes it's her.

Dr. Reginald Retina: Jesus, who D-01001?

D-89777: You should answer his questions and maybe we can leave this place.

D-01001: I don't want to leave. I see her. She sees me. I didn't mean to hurt you. You can come out, just look where I ended up because of everything.

D-89777: Who the fuck are you talking to 01001?

D-01001: My wife. She's back. But she's hiding, I think she's scared. She doesn't understand me. How do I make her understand? I'm sorry okay? I didn't think it would kill you.

D-89777: Please. I'm begging you. Snap out of it.

(A slap can be heard through the radio)

D-01001: Jesus, what is wrong with you? Why won't anyone understand.

D-99887: What the fuck is that?

Dr. Reginald Retina: What is what?

D-89777: It's a fucking bipedal dog. Its got hardly any fucking hair but it doesn't seem to be aggressive. It's just there, god, it's jaws unhinged or something. I mean, you did say there may be entities, but this isn't what I pictured. Let me please leave. PLEASE. (D-89777 begins sobbing).

Dr. Reginald Retina: Remain as you are.

D-01001: You're beautiful. I missed you. We can be together again.

D-89777: Don't fucking touch that thing.

Dr. Reginald Retina: D-01001, you will be terminated if you proceed.

D-89777: What have you done? (Voice wavering)

D-01001: (Begins to yell uncontrollably before calming down into a slow, steady pant)

D-89777: It's gone. I think it's fucking inside him.

Dr. Reginald Retina: Shit, stay there, I'm sending in our MTF unit to pick you all up. Good luck.

Final notes: Following this incident, D-01001, under the physical and psychological control of SCP-9918-B neutralized two Foundation personnel before the Somniumistics Division was able to calm SCP-9918-B, and convince it to talk. Following this, SCP-9918-B agreed to talk, settling with talking to Dr. Reginald Retina, refusing to talk to anyone of lesser class.

SCP-9918-B Interview Log

Foreword: Following the incident within SCP-9918-Æ, the first exploration log since the [INCIDENT REDACTED BY ORDER OF THE O5 COUNCIL] SCP-9918-B has been brought in for questioning, having displayed tendencies never before seen from SCP-9918-B

<Begin Log>

Dr. Reginald Retina: The date is August 1st, 1924. Hello, SCP-9918-B

D-01001/SCP-9918-B: SCP-9918-B? Is this what you call me? Or the one I have taken.

Dr. Reginald Retina: You are correct it is you. The host you have taken from us is D-01001. Keep him.

D-01001/SCP-9918-B: Maybe. But I have question for you.

Dr. Reginald Retina: Go on?

D-01001/SCP-9918-B: Why did you hurt me? My world hurts. I feel it.

Dr. Reginald Retina: Pardon?

(D-01001's arm is extended outward towards Dr. Reginald Retina's cheek, before splitting into a branch-like structure, wrapping around his face. D-01001's eyes roll back into his skull)

D-01001/SCP-9918-B: I see the answer. You wanted something of me.

Dr. Reginald Retina: We did not intend to hurt you, SCP-9918-B. We just wanted your help.

D-01001/SCP-9918-B: Yet you keep me in a trap. My home will never be the same. All my friends are dead. I am scared and scarred all because of you. BECAUSE. OF. YOU. IT IS ALL YOUR FAULT. ALL YOUR FAULT. ALL YOUR FAULT. ALL YOUR FAULT.

D-01001's arms stretch out into long, black tendrils which promptly lash out into the surrounding MTF personnel

Dr. Reginald Retina: SCP-9918-B, calm down! I'd like to cut a deal.

SCP-9918-B ceases to attack, before fully enveloping D-01001's body in a black sticky substance. D-01001's voice fades away.

SCP-9918-B: I did not mean to harm your world, but you did not seem to care when you did as you did. When you spoke as you spoke. You don't think. You imprison. Besides, I did not harm your world. You did. But you cannot perceive imperfection. We think you are unfit for the role of jailer but he decides that I must let you speak your mind. So speak.

Dr. Reginald Retina: SCP-9918-B. We want you to help us prevent your world from taking ours. We will leave you alone. What is it you seek in return?

SCP-9918-B: I want your people. Once every seven days. I will torture and consume it. But not just that. I need you to feel what I felt. I will go home and in 40 rotations I shall return. And when that happens. I want you to come inside my world. And I will show you what you have caused us. WHAT YOU HAVE CAUSED ME. I HEAR. I HEAR. I HEAR. YOU WILL UNDERSTAND. PLEASE. FORGIVE. NO FORGETTING. NEVER FORGETTING. And your son. I want you to have one. I won't let you die. Ever. FOR EVER, AND EVER, AND EVER. YOU WILL BE MINE. FOR ALL THE TIME THERE IS. TIME? TIME. TIME. TIME. I will accept this deal. But aside from all established today. I want to see nothing more of the rest of you.

Dr. Reginald Retina: And if I decline?

SCP-9918-B: WHY WOULD YOU DECLINE? Explain it to me. EXPLAIN IT TO US. WE ARE WAITING. I just want to go home. WE WOULD ALL LIKE TO GO HOME NOW WOULDN'T WE? BUT WE CAN'T ALL GET WHAT WE WANT. CAN WE? Oh, but I can. FINE. DECLINE THE DEAL, AND YOU ALL WILL DIE. DIE. DIE. DIE. DIE. DIE. DIE. DIE. DIE. DIE.

Dr. Reginald Retina: FINE! Fine. I accept.

SCP-9918-B: Very well. Please see us out. We will be going home now.

<End Log>

Closing Statement: SCP-9918-B was promptly escorted back to SCP-9918-Æ and vanished into the walls, leaving behind an unconscious D-01001. Tesla coils reported seeing lowered required output to keep SCP-9918-Æ restrained following this interview.

Major Incident logs:

Incident A, August 1st, 1964 at 16:00 hours. SCP-9918-B manifested from SCP-9918-Æ in its baseline state, breaching its containment chamber and triggering activation of the Flynn Reality Seal. During egress, SCP-9918-B terminated sixteen MTF personnel. It subsequently passed through the Flynn Reality Seal and proceeded to the office of Dr. Reginald Retina.

Upon arrival, SCP-9918-B requested that Dr. Retina accompany it to SCP-9918-Æ, referencing the prior agreement. Following directive from on-site MTF personnel, Dr. Retina complied. SCP-9918-B reentered SCP-9918-Æ at approximately 18:06 hours, escorting Dr. Retina.

Personnel who directly encountered SCP-9918-B during the event entered an immediate comatose state and did not regain consciousness. All affected individuals were later declared deceased by Site administration.

Prior to reentry, SCP-9918-B stated:
I don't understand why you see me a monster. I thought we could be friends before all of this. I didn't mean to hurt you.

Dr. Reginald Retina was subsequently removed from his position as lead researcher on SCP-9918 due to his continued absence. Multiple expeditions into SCP-9918-Æ have failed to recover him, supporting the assessment of permanent loss.

Incident B, August 1st 2012 at 16:00 hours. SCP-9918-B manifested from SCP-9918-Æ in its baseline form and breached its containment chamber. Facility surveillance recorded SCP-9918-B inquiring with MTF personnel regarding the whereabouts of Dr. Karl Retina. When no information was obtained, SCP-9918-B became hostile and began terminating personnel in the immediate vicinity.

Upon encountering the Flynn Reality Seal, which prevented further physical advancement, SCP-9918-B redirected its movement through partial materialization and subsequently located Dr. Karl Retina. SCP-9918-B initiated verbal communication, claiming that Dr. Reginald Retina remained alive within SCP-9918-Æ and asserting that Dr. Karl Retina could “join him.” The exchange was interrupted when MTF Unit Gamma-747 (“Reality Seekers”) entered the area and forcibly returned SCP-9918-B to SCP-9918-Æ. All personnel who directly visualized SCP-9918-B were administered Class-C amnestics. SCP-9918-B reentered SCP-9918-Æ at 19:02 hours while exhibiting signs consistent with distress (audible crying).

At 19:04 hours, SCP-9918-Æ began expanding at an accelerating rate. Recently installed tensile ontological restraints were overcharged in response, resulting in localized reality destabilization. This measure successfully recontained SCP-9918-Æ; however, permanent ontological degradation was recorded within the affected sector as a consequence of restraint overload. Accelerative expansion ceased at 20:12 hours. Special Containment Procedures were subsequently updated to reflect the incident.

Additional notes

D-555551 was instructed to enter SCP-9918-Æ a few hours before a regularly scheduled sacrifice, equipped with a radio to communicate with research head Dr. Karl Retina.

Entry was successful. At first, D-555551 described a cold forest environment. Fifteen minutes into the experiment, D-55551's radio cut out. Five minutes following that, SCP-9918-B growled incoherently into the radio before D-555551 was forcefully expelled from SCP-9918-Æ, breaking an arm upon impact with the testing chamber wall.

Roughly five hours after a regularly scheduled sacrifice, D-456600 was instructed to enter SCP-9918-Æ. A radio was not provided due to extenuating circumstances.

D-455600's post experiment testimony goes as follows. "I didn't know what to expect to be honest. But it certainly lives up to the expectation of 'Dreamscape'. When I first appeared in there, I was in a pool. It wasn't a normal pool though, it was like every surface was pool tiles, even the ceiling. And of course, the room just had to be a perfect cube. Anyways, I walked through similar rooms for what felt hours, endless pristine pool like rooms. Suddenly, the only way forward was a drop into a perfect blue sky. That's when I felt it. Like I was being watched. I couldn't see anything, heck, maybe it was that distant cloud for all I care. Regardless, I jumped, crashed into the ground and next thing I know, I'm back in the damn testing chamber. My legs still sting a bit from the landing."

D-455600 did not return from SCP-9918-Æ with any injuries, despite his testimony implying otherwise.

MTF Epsilon-98 ("Seeking Somnium") was deployed into SCP-9918-Æ. This test was undertaken in an attempt to document key locations within the dreamscape.

After the group successfully entered SCP-9918-Æ, MTF Epsilon-98 utilised specialised technology, provided by the Department of Somniumistics, to locate areas with distinct Hume levels. The first two hours of the expedition went off flawlessly, documenting 3 key locations, later documented as "The Hull", "The Cloud Field" and "The School". Suddenly, at the 2 hours and ten minutes mark, Episilon-98 was transported to a grey void. A distance away from them, a figure made of static, resembling Dr. Reginald Retina, sat hunched off and moaning in pain. Before any member of the group could react, all but one of them was turned to ash by SCP-9918-B, who subsequently expelled the remaining member from SCP-9918-Æ.

D-345678 was sent into SCP-9918-Æ, equipped with a radio and a bomb strapped to his chest.

Entry successful. D-345678 described walking along a bridge over the void. After fifteen minutes, the subject entered a snowed over park. Upon reaching the centre, D-345678 reported figures rapidly surrounding the area. With no other perceived options, he activated the bomb strapped to his chest.

SCP-9918-B required five sacrifices during the sacrificial ritual that took place a week after this test.

An hour after the prior experiment, a drone was sent in SCP-9918-Æ to observe the results.

Without another entrant, SCP-9918-Æ remained unchanged from the prior test. Upon finding the location of D-345678's self inflicted death, the drone observed several shadowy figures, resembling mourners at a funeral, standing around a shallow grave. The following was etched upon the gravestone: "R.I.P Raven Huxley"

The L.U.C.I.D Program:

Devised under the authority of Dr. F. Otter, the L.U.C.I.D. Program served as an attempt to revolutionise the containment of sentient reality bending entities via the use of SCP-9918. Thus freeing up more resources for Site-68.

Although the program did not finish its seventh stage, the original plan involved ten stages, which were as follows:

  1. SCP-9918-Æ is to be documented in its entirety. (Step abandoned early on due to the realisation of the dimension's shifting properties.)
  2. SCP-9918-Æ is to be securely maintained for an extended period.
  3. Several low risk objects with reality altering properties are to be sent into SCP-9918-Æ.
  4. Observe. Should Phase 3 prove successful (And the objects be made effectively inert with the dimension), move onto phase 5.
  5. A set of ten low risk reality benders is to be introduced to SCP-9918-Æ.
  6. Observe. Should Phase 5 prove successful, move onto phase 7.
  7. A second batch of medium risk reality benders is to be introduced to SCP-9918-Æ, which is to be expanded to accommodate for the amount of entrants.
  8. Observe. Should Phase 7 prove successful, move onto phase 9.
  9. A third and final batch of high risk reality benders is to be introduced to SCP-9918-Æ, which is to be expanded to accommodate for the amount of entrants.
  10. Should the prior phase be successful, SCP-9918 is to be reclassified as Thaumiel and become a standard containment measure for sentient reality bending entities.

The L.U.C.I.D Incident:

SCP-█████ file: SCP-█████

On 1 March 1914, Phase 7 of the L.U.C.I.D. Program was initiated. SCP-9918-Æ was expanded to dimensions of 500 m × 500 m × 500 m. SCP-█████ was introduced into SCP-9918-Æ at 04:00 hours. MTF Unit Gamma-747 (“Reality Seekers”) escorted SCP-█████ to a prepared Tesla cannon array, which activated at 04:33 hours. An Einstein–Rosen bridge was then utilized to transport SCP-█████ to a randomized location within SCP-9918-Æ.

Upon arrival, MTF personnel deployed a distributed camera array in proximity to SCP-█████’s projected location. Additional recording devices were affixed to the entity’s chest, dorsal region, and cranial area. SCP-█████ was subsequently left unaccompanied and monitored remotely.

After approximately five minutes, SCP-█████ began inquiring about its surroundings and testing environmental boundaries. The entity employed standard anomalous manifestations in repeated attempts to traverse and exit the space. These efforts continued for several hours before activity declined. Upon apparent realization that egress was not possible, SCP-█████ entered a state of acute distress.

SCP-█████ subsequently became catatonic. A high-intensity luminescent emission then manifested from its tumorous growths, a previously unrecorded phenomenon. As luminosity increased, localized reality destabilization was observed surrounding the entity. MTF Gamma-747 was redeployed at 05:12 hours and successfully neutralized SCP-█████ at 05:23 hours.

At the moment of neutralization, ontological degradation at the site had progressed to singularity formation. Gamma-747 successfully contained and destroyed the singularity using Site-68–issued weaponry. Despite this intervention, SCP-9918-Æ began accelerating in expansion independent of SCP-9918-A.

Externally, Site-68 was fully subsumed by SCP-9918-Æ. At 05:31 hours, Dr. F. Otter transmitted emergency code “L.U.C.I.D.” to the O5 Council. O5-1 initiated emergency protocols to prevent a projected PK-Class scenario resulting from SCP-9918-Æ’s documented effects on human consciousness during prolonged exposure. At 09:52 hours, Dr. Reginald Retina proposed the deployment of a coordinated global reality-anchor system. The proposal was authorized by O5-1.

By the time authorization was granted, SCP-9918-Æ had expanded to encompass multiple major population centers, including New Delhi, Los Angeles, and Perth. The Foundation initiated global deployment of reality anchors, centrally coordinated through Site-68 infrastructure. Deployment concluded at 01:12 hours the following day. At this point, no location on Earth remained outside SCP-9918-Æ’s influence.

At 01:31 hours, Dr. F. Otter activated the newly established Global Reality Anchor Network (G.R.A.N.). The network generated multidirectional ontological tension, forcibly destabilizing and fragmenting SCP-9918-Æ, temporarily halting expansion. Emergency Tesla coil arrays stored at Site-68 were subsequently repurposed as a precursor system to modern tensile ontological restraints, successfully compressing SCP-9918-Æ back into its designated containment chamber. Since this event, SCP-9918-Æ has remained in a state of continuous low-level expansion and structural instability.

In the aftermath, the Foundation initiated extensive disinformation campaigns across affected nations. Nocturnal exposure events were attributed to widespread parasomniac phenomena. Daytime exposure incidents were attributed to alleged chemical contamination of municipal water supplies, publicly assigned to British intelligence operations.

To further obscure the incident and ensure preservation of the Veil, the O5 Council authorized the assassination of Archduke Franz Ferdinand of Austria-Hungary on 28 July 1914.

The resulting global conflict successfully diverted international attention from SCP-9918-Æ and its associated effects.

Remaining individuals who rejected official explanations were detained and administered Class-G amnestics. Prior to treatment, testimonial accounts were recorded and archived below.

Account, A: Subject A was a 167cm male of Serbian origin from the city of Belgrade. The following testimony has been translated from Serbian. Subject A was convinced he was schizophrenic via Class-G amnestics.

I don't know what happened. I really don't. I don't believe these lies they tell us. I saw what I saw. There was a lady. She was in the street dancing. I looked out my window and it was as if no one could see her. I didn't think anything of it until she looked at me. She didn't change facial expression and she didn't stop dancing. She stayed there just staring at me for a good few minutes so I left. I was scared. Then it turned night a-and my fire went out so I relit it and she was there. In my room. She wasn't attacking me or anything she was just dancing and staring. No smile. No joy. Just pain. I saw pain in her eyes. She had been hurt. And I was so so scared yet also sympathetic. I don't know how I wronged God. I yelled for her to get out but she didn't flinch. It was like I wasn't there. I prayed and prayed but she didn't move. I don't know what kind of twisted intervention followed but the room seemed to warp. My chair and desk became giant. And all the details faded away. Are you telling me some chemicals did this? No. This was the Lord. Before it all stopped. The lady stopped dancing and took a seat. It looked like she was crying. She looked right at me before she keeled over and began to yell. Then she ran at me before she disappeared right before my eyes. Why did she die. Why didn't I. ~ Subject A.

Account, B: Subject B was a 181cm male of Irish descent and Russian origin. The following text has been translated from Armenian. Subject B was given Class-G amnestics and placed into Bethania Mental Hospital

You want me to start talking about what I saw that day? Let me start by talking about the fact that the day turned to night. Revelation 8:2. There were trumpets and I heard music. Beautiful music. I left my home. He made me think it was judgement day. Everyone was gone. It was I alone in the streets. Me and the trumpets. From the ground I saw corpses rise and kneel to praise the Lord. A winged being stood in the sky and began to pluck the corpses one by one. I wasn't in my town anymore I was in a field. A beautiful field. I felt the presence of the Lord. He did not let me into his kingdom. I don't understand why. The world around me turned barren. The remaining corpses stood faceless. All of their faces followed me. I ran through this vast field of corpses but there was no end. THERE WAS NO END. Why was there no end. Was it real? Am I in hell? Did God speak to me? They caught me and buried me. I heard a pulsing like a factory machine. The heartbeat of humanity. You know us and you will meet us. The dirt fell apart around me and I woke up at my dinner table. As if it never happened. And no one believes me. ~ Subject B.
